CGIC Prosecutions
This training is broken down into three modules:
Module 1 – NIBIN Investigations (55 minutes)
Module 2 – NIBIN Prosecutions (56 minutes)
Module 3 – Digital Evidence (50 minutes)
The overall objectives of the NIBIN Investigations training are to:
- Understand how NIBIN works; and
- Learn how NIBIN leads can result in an arrest.
The overall objectives of the NIBIN Prosecutions training are to:
- Understand what NIBIN is and isn't;
- Leverage NIBIN leads in the courtroom; and
- Learn common NIBIN tension points and how to overcome them.
The overall objectives of the Digital Evidence training are to:
- Learn about different digital evidence types; and
- Understand how digital evidence can be used in conjunction with NIBIN.

Interviewing Suspects in Gun Crime Investigations
This training is broken down into two modules:
Module 1 – Interviewing Suspects in Gun Crime Investigations (1 hour & 31 minutes)
Module 2 – NIBIN Lead Investigations (1 hour & 3 minutes)
The overall objectives of the Interviewing Suspects in Gun Crime Investigations training are to:
- Understand the importance of rapport building;
- Learn how to recognize potential biases or other variables that could impact an investigation; and
- Enhance communication skills.
The overall objectives of the NIBIN Lead Investigations training are to:
- Leverage technology efficiently;
- Learn how to collaborate with various CGIC stakeholders;
- Understand social network analysis and its importance; and
- Document and follow up on NIBIN leads effectively.

Interviewing Victims & Witnesses in Gun Crime Investigations
This training is broken down into two modules:
Module 1 – Interviewing Victims and Witnesses in Gun Crime Investigations (2 hours & 8 minutes)
Module 2 – Interviewing the Uncooperative (20 minutes)
The overall objectives of the Interviewing Victims and Witnesses in Gun Crime training are to:
- Understand communication;
- Use empathy and active listening cues;
- Implement de-escalation techniques; and
- Prepare and conduct on-scene interviews.
The overall objectives of the Interviewing the Uncooperative training are to:
- Understand what makes a victim or witness uncooperative;
- Review strategies on how to overcome uncooperative victims or witnesses; and
- Learn how to engage the community and victim advocates.
